New partnership opens doors to education
Job preparation workshop – Barranquilla, Atlántico.
We are pleased to announce a new partnership with Asociación Educativa Vida y Salud – ASEVIS,
which will benefit 320 migrants, returnees, and members of host communities in Pasto, Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín.
The agreement, signed in July, enables participants to validate their high school diplomas in Colombia and access certified job training programs in key areas for employability and sustainable livelihoods.
Participant selection was carried out by Heartland Alliance International’s regional teams in the prioritized cities. Although registration for this partnership has now closed, remember that if you meet the legal requirements, you can still validate your high school diploma independently by following the official process established by the Ministry of Education.
Why is it important to validate your high school diploma in Colombia?
Having a recognized high school diploma opens real opportunities to advance your life project in the country. This process, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, grants an officially valid diploma in Colombia, which can make a difference in your social and economic integration by allowing you to:
- Access higher education: A high school diploma is required to enroll in universities or technical and technological programs.
- Enter the formal job market: Many companies request it as a minimum hiring requirement.
- Grow personally and professionally: Completing this process strengthens your profile and increases your chances of obtaining better-paid jobs.
Basic requirements for validation
According to the Ministry of Education, the main requirements are:
- Venezuelan high school diploma, legalized or apostilled in the country of origin.
- Valid identification document (passport, Venezuelan ID card, foreigner ID card, or Temporary Protection Permit – PPT).
- Saber 11 test, when the diploma is not recognized or there is no equivalent national test from the country of origin.
